Formed by hot-melt wrapping polypropylene microfibers into a dense three-layer space between fibers, its inside and outside are dense with stable filtration accuracy. It effectively intercepts and removes particles without fibers shedding during filtration, maintaining good permeability with a 99% interception rate. The manufacturing process is one-piece molding with a single material — no colloid, no filler — giving stable performance, good high-temperature resistance and good chemical compatibility. Because the melt-blown element holds little contaminant, service life is shorter for higher-pollutant or higher-concentration liquids. Without an internal support skeleton it has lower pressure resistance than wire-wound, and it cannot be cleaned economically; in normal use it is one-time, not reusable. It is low-price and strongly adaptable.
Typical uses include: pharmaceutical pre-filtration (injections, liquid medicines, bottle-washing water, infusions, antibiotics, TCM injections); food (alcohol, beverages, drinking water); electronics (pure & ultra-pure water pre-filtration); petroleum & chemical (organic solvents, acids, lye, oilfield water).
Made by winding polypropylene filter yarn onto a plastic or stainless-steel porous skeleton, it has an outer-sparse / inner-dense honeycomb structure with high flow rate and low pressure loss. The internal PP & stainless-steel skeleton provides strong pressure resistance and effective removal of suspended solids, particles, rust and other impurities with very good filtration performance. It lasts a long time and can be backwashed, saving cost, and offers a wide range of chemical compatibility.
Typical uses include: reverse-osmosis pre-filtration, petrochemical filtration, industrial oil filtration and organic-solution filtration.
This depends on your process — cloth selection is as much an art as it is a science. Based on our years of combined experience and lab testing, we can make an expert recommendation. We supply cloths based on criteria you give us and on sample processing we do in our lab. Should your process change, we recommend re-evaluating your cloth type for suitability.
Cloths for non-gasketed plates hang over the plate from top to bottom, held by eyelets over the cloth-pins on top of the plate; the cloth itself provides the seal between plates. Gasketed plates give less leakage thanks to an O-ring seal around the chamber and filtration ports; the gasketed cloth has a high-density sash cord sewn around its perimeter that is caulked into a groove on the plate.
The cloth type is determined by the process or application, the operating environment, and the required performance of the filtering media. Filter cloths come in many materials — polypropylene, polyester, cotton and other synthetics — and in monofilament, multifilament or spun fibers.
